/ Use case · Workforce intelligence

See your workforce clearly.
Aggregate, never a verdict.

Compass turns the signals your team already generates into aggregate, banded workforce intelligence — where capability is growing, where focus is eroding, where attention helps most. It reads usage and metadata, never the content inside your tools.

Aggregate only — no individual hard scores. Reads usage signals and metadata, never the content inside your tools. You decide.

/ 01   Signals from real work

Banded distribution.
Not a ranking.

Compass reads the usage and metadata signals your team’s tools already generate — session frequency, feature adoption, calendar metadata — and returns a banded distribution: Exploring, Building, Solid. No ranking. No percentile. No individual score.

The distribution tells you where the team sits today and flags where a focused intervention helps most. It never tells you which person to act on.

What to focus first

31% in Exploring — structured onboarding sprint would move the most people.
Building cohort growing well — peer-learning format could accelerate the shift to Solid.
Solid cohort at 20% — consider internal champions programme to lift the floor.
Illustrative data. Band distributions are sample values. Real outputs require at least 3 accrued snapshots and are clearly flagged as provisional until then.

What the manager sees

Band distribution for the team
Exploring / Building / Solid split for the whole team or department — never for a named individual.
Where focus erodes (aggregate signal)
Compass highlights team-level patterns: a dip in a tool category, a cluster of low-adoption signals. Direction, not diagnosis.
Prioritized “what to focus first”
A short, ranked list of team-level interventions drawn from the band distribution. Suggested direction — you own the decision.
Signal source always labelled
Usage metadata, calendar, or task activity — each inference is tagged to its source. No unlabelled metrics, no hidden scores.

Direction
not individual detail.

Managers see the team’s band distribution and the “what to focus first” list. Individual usage patterns are not surfaced. The intelligence is designed to move a team forward, not to evaluate any person.

Compass is decision-support. It surfaces direction; your management team makes every call.

/ What Compass is not

Honest about
what it doesn’t do.

Not a hard score on a person
Compass produces team-level band distributions only. There is no numeric score, no percentile, no ranking for any individual. The system has no mechanism to produce one.
Not surveillance (signals, not content)
Compass reads usage metadata: how often a tool is opened, calendar event counts, session lengths. It never reads messages, documents, task content, or anything a person has written or said.
Not a ranking of people
The output is a distribution of the team across three bands. Nobody is first or last. The intent is to show where the distribution sits and where it needs to move — never to sort people.
Decision-support — you decide
Compass surfaces direction and suggested focus areas. No output from Compass constitutes a hiring, firing, pay, or performance management decision. You and your team remain the deciders.

Aggregate only — no individual hard scores or rankings, by design. Reads usage metadata and calendar signals; never reads the content inside your tools. The band distribution is decision-support. You remain the decider on every people and team action.
